KRISSY BAYER
I attended Albertus Magnus College and received both my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree. I currently am the Director of Weights and Measures for the City of New Haven. I have been with the City of New Haven for over 25 years.Since starting CrossFit I have obtained my Level 1 Trainer Certificate and competed in various competitions. I have always considered myself to be an athlete because I grew up playing organized sports since I was in grammar school, such as, softball, basketball, and volleyball. Since CrossFit came into my life in 2011 things have really changed for me. I will never forget my first workout because it was one of those “defining moments ” for me. I literally thought I was going to keel over and pass out. Once I caught my breath and realized I made it through the workout I knew at that moment CrossFit was for me. However, I had no idea at the time how much of an impact it would have on my life, mentally as well as physically.

RAFAEL SEGURA
I have been on a weight loss journey for over 10 years now. One day, I
made the decision to change my life to become a better version of
myself. I didn’t want to be part of the 300+ pounds club anymore. I
started training around the age of 20, starting with bodybuilding and
eventually making my way onto CrossFit in the year of 2015. During my
journey, I have learned many different workout techniques and
nutritional plans to achieve body styles and weight goals for myself
and others. I made the choice to become a coach in 2018, not just to
better educate myself, but to share my knowledge with the world. My
goal is to help people achieve the goals they have always dreamed of,
and also assist them in becoming a better version of themselves.
Besides training and coaching, I’m a computer tech and possibly one of
the biggest nerds you will ever meet. I enjoy anything involving
technology, cars, sports, and constantly working on personal defense
goals. I am what you call a daredevil and risk taker, always looking
to have a good time and get the most out of what life has to offer.
Catch me jumping out of a plane just for the thrill and a once in a
lifetime view.

Novella Atkinson
I am a mother of 3 boys who are entering the world of adulthood (what fun! Lol). I have worked for the State of Connecticut helping children and families for the last 24 years. I am currently attending graduate school for a master’s degree in social work. In the midst of raising children and working a very challenging career, I stumbled across my love for fitness in 2012 when I stepped into a CrossFit gym for the first time. Fitness quickly become the center of my world following that day. I was surprised at how much I loved the feeling of getting stronger, faster, and healthier. I also have a passion for running and ran my first marathon in NYC in 2017. I’ve ran several half marathons and other distance races. I served as the Connecticut ambassador for a national running organization for 4 years. I wanted to share my love for fitness with others and attained a Crossfit Level 1 Certificate in 2016 and began coaching at a Crossfit gym. I believe health and wellness are a combination of attention to our physical and mental well-being. My goal as your coach is to bring my education and experience to guide, support, and motivate you in reaching your fitness goals.
